Erica Jensen is a second-year graduate student from Hot Springs, SD pursuing a concurrent degree in museum studies and art history at Syracuse University. She completed undergrad at Whitman College, a small liberal arts college in Walla Walla, WA, where she majored in art history. Erica is interested in combining curatorial research and education through ways such as designing exhibits with the visitor experience playing a key role in the conceptual process. For her internship, Erica was able to experience both aspects of her interests in museum studies. In the summer of 2013, Erica interned at the Denver Art Museum (DAM) in Colorado. Her internship was through the education department but focused on curatorial research. The experiences the internship provided assured Erica of her choice to find ways to combine curatorial research and education in her career.
